Who we are

SpecSide is a Shopify app that builds product specification tables and side-by-side comparison for online stores. It is operated by Holgate (Australia). Contact: james@holgate.au.

What we store

To run the app for your store, we store: your shop's myshopify.com domain, the access credentials Shopify issues when you install the app, your plan status, and the spec table drafts and publish records you create in the app. Published spec tables are stored by Shopify on your own products as metafields, not on our servers.

What we never collect

We do not collect, store, or process any data about your customers. No names, emails, addresses, orders, or browsing behaviour. When a shopper uses the compare feature, their product selection is stored only in their own browser and never sent to us; the compare view fetches only the public spec tables of the selected products.

Data deletion

When you uninstall SpecSide, all data we hold for your store is deleted automatically. We also honour Shopify's standard privacy webhooks: store data deletion requests are fulfilled automatically, and customer data requests are trivially satisfiable because we hold no customer data.

Where data lives

The app is hosted on Fly.io infrastructure in Sydney, Australia. We do not sell or share data with third parties.
